Sr Specialist SA, Migrations and Modernization

DESCRIPTION

AWS ASEAN Migrations & Modernization team is looking for an experienced Specialist Solution Architect who can build successful technical partnership with AWS customers to drive migration and modernization of their workloads on AWS. The candidate is expected to interact with senior technical and business stakeholders, become a trusted advisor to these customers, and help them make informed decisions on their cloud strategy. The candidate should be able to host, facilitate and conduct technical workshops, labs and hand-on programs for the customers to learn different services and skills required to migrate and/or modernize on AWS.

Key job responsibilities
Attributes and qualities to look for during your interview:
– 14 – 16 years of IT experience most of which will have been in helping sell and / or manage complex projects (such as large digital transformation projects / migrations / application modernization / DB porting etc.).
– 10+ years of hands-on technical design, implementation or consulting experience & within that 5+ years of experience in customer/partner facing senior technical positions within solution architecture or technical sales teams, and enterprise solution selling experience.
– Broad based technology experience including: cloud migration, cloud infrastructure, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, networking, security, storage, compute, continuous deployment, containers, and management and monitoring.
– Experience leading architecture for public cloud migrations (AWS, Azure or GCP) and multi-tower global customer transformations in areas of mass migrations and application modernization.
– Demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development
– Strong leadership capabilities, having the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners, across multiple disciplines, strong presentation and written communication skills; high degree of comfort with technical and Executive audiences.
– Engaging with C-level executives to inspire, define and execute on Enterprise cloud migration and modernization strategies showing thought-leadership and a ‘can do’ approach to enterprise migrations, including leading many such engagements working along-side account teams as mentoring and coaching opportunity.
– Lead transformational change in large Enterprise customers in their journey to the cloud, including discovery, readiness assessment, migration planning, tool selection, and migration execution.
– Defining and executing on the technology migration strategy by engaging highly technical teams within AWS (other Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners) to define migrations and modernization pathways.
– Assessing migration feasibility, identifying dependencies and overcoming obstacles.
– Engaging with development, infrastructure, security and IT operations teams at a customer and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures for cloud migrations and modernizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
– 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
– 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
– Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
– Experience working with end user or developer communities
