The Role Responsibilities

Project & Export Finance role across Asean, North Asia and Australia covering various infrastructure asset classes across lending and debt financial advisory roles. Focus on delivering the Bank’s sustainability commitments across such markets.

Responsibilities

Support the Project & Export Finance team across origination and execution of infrastructure advisory and financings across Asean, North Asia & Australia. Act as team player on various transactions to meet the team’s overall strategy. As an Associate Director, it is expected to support execution activities for the team, working alongside senior members of the team in the origination of transactions. 

Strategy

  • Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.

Business

  • Provide support in the origination and execution of Project & Export Finance (PEF) transactions across Asean and Australia;
  • Take ownership and / or oversee the building of detailed financial models to evaluate; performance under various operating scenarios to analyze the impacts of different capital structures related to different products;
  • Participate primarily in the execution of transactions, from the pitch phase through to closing including due diligence and drafting / reviews of financing and project documentation;
  • Prepare presentation materials for use in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on clients and targets;
  • Support and/ or oversee research and analysis of markets and industries relevant to Project and Export Finance in the Asean / Australia region;
  • Involved in day to day project management and execution, including requisite internal approvals which will also involve developing understanding of several of the bank’s systems and software applications Complete all required regulatory examinations;
  • Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the Bank;
  • Assist as required with internal management presentations and documents.

Processes

  • Responsible for ensuring execution of transactions is in line with Bank’s policy and credit process. 

Risk Management

  • Ensure that the Bank’s risk management processes and policies are maintained to high standards. Act as first line of review for transactions under execution.

  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ year of experience in infrastructure financing or advisory 
  • Highly motivated individual with a strong record of achievement in academics
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Analytical aptitude, creative problem solving abilities and corporate finance skills
  • Proficient in building or maintaining oversight of complex financial models in MS Excel with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with other MS applications such as PowerPoint
  • Strong work ethic, detail orientation and a passion for excellence
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Ability to deliver under time pressure
  • Track record of working as a team member for at minimum 18 – 24 months
  • Any prior experience working on Project & Export Finance transactions, or working with Export Credit Agencies / Multilateral Development Banks a significant plus
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Mandarin is beneficial but not essential as this business supports China corridor clients into ASEAN region
